A member of the Kale family has been located in the
South Loop on Roosevelt Road since 1921. We are a
family owned and operated business that knows the
Chicago market and has seen both its ups and its downs.
Our
History:
Kale is the middle name of CEO Nick Patterson (3rd
Generation) Whose grandfather Sol Kale, started a uniform
company back in 1951 (Kale Uniforms) and grew it into
one of the largest suppliers to the Chicago Police,
Postal and Fire departments in the country. They even
supplied the uniforms for a couple famous Chicago
movies including Backdraft and the Blue's Brothers.
Kale
which is short for the old family name, Kaluzna, has
long roots in the South Loop neighborhood. Nick's
Great-Grandfather had a tailor shop at 1250 S. Jefferson
back in 1921. While, in 2006 the city honored Sol
with a street name right on the corner of Roosevelt
and Jefferson for 84 years of continued support for
the community.
